  • Project Type: Design and Implementation of Training Courses

The survey results from research by the project partner Pompeu Fabra in Spanish school teachers shows that teachers appreciate online training opportunities during Covid19 emergency. One survey in Italy confirms (Giovanella et al,2020), that teachers tended to adopt teaching strategies that reproduced standard classroom dynamics and there is a perception for the sustainability of online education. Almost all participants of this survey recognised the significance of digital pedagogy and the need to include it in the training curricula to prepare future teachers. Our literature survey for the project proposal also confirms that this is almost the same case for all educational institutions around the world. Therefore, there is an urgent and crucial need for developing digital pedagogical competencies, so that sustainability can be supported by holistic teacher professional development opportunities. Target groups: school teachers who deliver lessons online or hybrid Elements of innovation: The training sessions will be designed as an application of different methods. MOOCs, a series of multilingual webinars, and local face-to-face training with hands-on sessions. Expected impact and transferability: We expect that at least 120 teachers per country will participate in MOOCs, 200 teachers per country in webinars in local languages, and 30 teachers per university partners in face-to-face training. The MOOCs will be open on the selected MOOC platform and the webinars will be open so that anyone interested who misses the live broadcast could benefit from it afterwards. Because of the available local languages and English, teachers from outside of Europe would benefit from the training courses. In case of the Covid-19 restrictions on, face-to-face training will be carried out online targeting specific needs of the named schools.
